Cambridge is the perfect backdrop for a Photoshoot.

The ease of lockdown has begun and photographers were allowed to start shooting again last week. One client took full advantage of the glorious balmy weather and booked me in for a socially-distanced photoshoot straight away. She had wanted to have a family photoshoot for nearly a year and I am glad she waited as there was an addition the their family in the shape of a beautiful Golden-Doodle puppy.

In the height of lockdown, I photographed my own children one evening in the centre of Cambridge, and it reminded me what a perfect setting it is for photo shoots. The city of Cambridge is one of the most photographed in the world, yet, I have always been on the lookout for the perfect countryside locations. I am not sure why I have overlooked it as a back drop, but I'm glad to have taken the time to appreciate it in recent weeks.

It does of course help that, never before has the city been as quite as it has been recently. The streets are calm, quiet and beautiful. As we had the luxury of few people and no cars, we took the lead off the excitable puppy and let her run loose with the children resulting in some super fun images for my client's Gallery.

We got a puppy four years ago and even though I know to document family moments, I couldn't believe how quickly she stopped looking like a puppy, so if you have recently added a dog to your family, be sure to take as many photos as you can.

It's highly likely that Cambridge may experience a quite tourist season this Summer, so it's a good time to take advantage of it's peaceful streets and book a shoot. Head to my 'People & Portrait' section of my website to find out more about my Family Photo shoots.
